Why I Love Roller Skating Over Inline Skating (Rollerblading)
Hi Girlies!
One of my favorite hobbies is to roller-skate. As a child it was inline skating. I am not 100% sure what made me try roller skates, but I do know that once I did try them I never went back to inline skates.
Now I do prefer roller skating outside then I do inside. I love that it’s free, less crowded and I love feeling the cool fall air as I am skating.
Reason 1
I feel more stable on roller skates than I do when I am on inline skates. My first time on roller skates I was able to stand up versus my first time on inline skates. I fell so many times when I first put on rollerblades due to not being able to keep my balance. That alone almost made me quit. However, my first time on roller skates was different.
I was able to stand up in one spot without falling or twisting my ankle. That alone made me want to learn how to roller-skate even more. At the time of learning to roller-skate, I still owned a pair of inline skates.
Reason 2
Roller skates fell way better on my feet than inline skates. I had thought to myself that maybe the inline skates I had were too small for my feet, but I also thought that, based on the shape of the toe box that that’s how they are made. Either way, my feet feel so much better in roller skates.
Reason 3
I love that the stopper is in the front and not in the back. When I was using inline skates, it didn’t feel natural to break on my heels, so I didn’t do it as much and I would fall due to it. Now When I started roller skating, it was natural for me to stop from the front. I have no idea why this is natural for me, but it does make roller skating easier and more fun.
Reason 4
I love the style of roller skates more than inline skates. I love how skates look with my long socks. I like wearing all kinds of colorful and character socks with my skates. I have a pair of black light-up roller skates from Amazon that goes great with just about any pair of long socks. In the future I am planning on getting glitter roller skates that light up with lots of long glitter socks. I am a lover of long socks.
